Peeling a kiwi

I've begun adding a chopped kiwi to my blueberries and yogurt smoothie everyday. Here is a fantastic tip I saw online which makes the peeling quick and easy and even fun.

Cut the ends off the kiwi.

Insert a spoon under the skin and go all the way around.

Pop out the kiwi.

    1. I'm a huge fan of kiwis. I love the taste. And I love it that the ones I buy really come from NZ, and are organic!

  3. My late husband loved kiwi and so do I. I've been peeling them this way for a long time now. It's so easy and quick.

    1. I used to spend way too much time and effort before I learned this way!

  4. I was once served a kiwi fruit in an egg cup. It had been cut in a zig zag with the point of a sharp knife all the way round and then the top lifted off like the top of a boiled egg. Hard to explain but easy to do. I've never forgotten that breakfast over thirty years ago sitting in a garden on the confluence of two rivers in France.

  5. Good tip. We NZers call ourselves Kiwis -- after our native bird - so I imagined you peeling us! Have a great week. Cheers from Carole's Chatter

    1. I don't know if you'll come back to see this, but I'm interested in your 'method.' Do you cut off the tip and spoon it out of the skin or do you eat it skin and all?

  9. I eat the skin - still easier!

  12. When I eat Kiwi, it is usually just the fruit, not chopped up as part of something else like a smoothie. I simply cut off one end and then spoon the kiwi out of the skin like you would eat an egg out of the shell :-)

  13. Librarian (just above) took the words right out of my ... well, fingers I guess. And I did go to lucille's comment and how fun a memory! A good idea to add one to a smoothy too.

  14. That's the way we were taught in New Zealand to manage them! Such a wonderful fruit. I have a smoothie every day as well, for my lunch. Mango and orange juice and yogurt. With cardamom.
