They are wonderful photos, and you are so lucky to have a beautiful wild creature like that in your garden. I wouldn't want to do anything except stand and watch... I was going to say we don't get much wildlife in our garden, but we did have our day of the butterflies, which was magical, so I can't complain.
In the past few years we've had a lot more deer visitors. We even feed them in the winter now. A day of butterflies sounds wonderful. I didn't see many this summer.
Awww. What a sweet little deer. That's an animal we don't see much of here, except out in the country or along the highways. Since we put our patio in, we're not seeing nearly as many rabbits, either. I'm not complaining. Maybe I can plant my favorite Black-Eyed Susans next summer!!
I haven't seen a rabbit in a long time. I guess they just stay out in the woods. I'm glad they are safe, but I do enjoy seeing them. We've had lots of deer in the past years, but fewer moose.
We have an oak wood and nature reserve at the bottom of our garden and we often get roe deer peering over the garden fence - which is very secure because, lovely as they are, they have voracious appetites for choice garden plants! I am so sorry. I should have let you know. Glad you get to see deer. We had some things eaten this year but we aren't sure if it was deer or our goat, Esther who gets out of any fence.
We don't see as many deer as we used to around here but we did have a pair of twin fawns this year. Also we got a rare treat a couple weeks ago when I spotted an almost all white deer on the path up to our upper pond. Even with the binoculars I couldn't get a close look at her, but could see enough that I know she's marked something like an Appaloosa horse. Years ago we had an all-white buck, but this is a young doe. I hope she survives hunting season with that white standing out so much.
We saw a pair this summer too, but saw the mother only once. They seemed to fare okay alone, but we wondered about them a lot. Maybe it will snow by hunting season so she will be safe.
