There are two mother wild turkeys with sixteen chicks. This day the little ones flew up onto the maple tree branch.
On the top left, you can see one of several chicks who flew way up.
And today's foray was into the garden. We often hear them before we see them - the sweet little peep, peep.
Ain't nature grand? So sweet seeing the little turkey chicks.

DeleteWhat a wonderful view you have!! I love the baby turkeys. We once came upon a group of turkeys and babies and spent over 30 minutes watching their antics!!

I thought of you the other day because I looked out and two little fawns were running to beat the band. And then they were in the woods. Didn't see the mother, and haven't seen them again.

They are a success story around here.
DeleteYes, it was a peony. Not a good year for them because we got a big rain just after they opened and they fell and then got rusty.

DeleteBusy place! I can just imagine how lovely and serene it must be there to attract such an array of wildlife. I love the elaborate plumage on those turkeys.

Great pictures of the turkeys and their chicks. Reminds me of a time when I was walking through an overgrown path in Vermont, and the explosion of mama quail's wings nearby alerted us to the fact that a half dozen quail chicks were scurrying in the grass ahead of our feet.
ReplyDeleteJust the other day my daughter was running on the main road and suddenly her dog started nosing into the brush on the side. Then a partridge flew out chasing them away! She must have had a nest right there.
