  1. Haven't read all of A Defence of Poetry yet, but am reminded just how long it is since I read any Shelley, decades I'm afraid. I was very keen at one time and actually stayed in one of the houses in Wales where he is purported to have lived for a while. Such a romantic figure isn't he?

    1. I'm the same way - not since college really. But I was watching an early Lewis the other night, and one of the characters quoted Shelley. I put it right up here because I thought it so wonderful.
Lucky you to have stayed in the house. Yes, 'romantic' in the old way which I love.

    1. I didn't want to see it because the hero dies. :<)

  3. Every time you mention Stillmeadows, I am determined to find the book and read it for myself - but so far, being determined was where it ended. Now I have just looked "Gladys Taber" up on the German Amazon page (where I am registered with my kindle) but there is nothing there for the kindle, only some very expensive offers in the used-books-section.

    1. Even over here, it isn't easy to find all her books. Libraries who don't discard their old books have some. I wonder if the German amazon offers used books. I've bought some (not GT) that have come from England and the cost hasn't been bad. Here is an example of one of Gladys:

Would that offer be on the German amazon as well, I wonder?? I went to the site, and found this:

I don't know if one of the words is 'used' - but you will!

  4. He doesn't die on screen Nan, I was nervous for the same reason, but it is beautiful to look at and just enjoy that J.K (familiar initials!) was here at all. :-)
