Today's song/Hands - Jewel
If I could tell the world just one thing
It would be we're all OK
And not to worry because worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these
I won't be made useless
Won't be made idle with despair
Gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear
My hands are small, I know
They're not yours, they are my own
They're not yours, they are my own
And we are never broken
Poverty stole your golden shoes
Did not steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
But I knew it was not ever after
We will fight, not out of spite
For someone must stand up for what's right
'Cause where there's a man who has no voice
There ours shall go singing
My hands are small I know
They're not yours, they are my own
They're not yours, they are my own
We are never broken
'Cause in the end only kindness matters
In the end only kindness matters
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
My hands are small I know
They're not yours, they are my own
They are not yours, they are my own
And we are never broken
We are never broken
'Cause we are God's eyes
We are God's hands
God's mind
We are God's eyes
We are God's hands
We are God's heart
We are, we are
Comforting words for today's world.
ReplyDeleteI felt they were very meaningful on the day after the election. 'only kindness matters'
DeleteI have a book of her poetry. I was so surprised to read what she wrote. So much I could identify with even though I am old enough to be her ... grandmother. ha... Love the song. I also really like your header picture.
ReplyDeleteShe really is quite wonderful, and a bit of an 'old soul' I think.
DeleteI love that song. Thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteI like the hopeful spirit. And those words 'only kindness matters' are the ones I try to live by.
