A wonderful little video on Dylan Thomas' Wales

I wish I could put this on the blog, but there is no way to embed it. Still, it is worth your while to go to the link and watch. Only around 4 minutes long, and oh, so lovely. You may find it here.

  1. Thank you for bringing this to your post today- it's so wonderful to catch at least a glimpse of an artist's life as he surely was an artist of language.

  2. I enjoyed watching this though I can't say that I've read much of Dylan Thomas' work I'm afraid. I can't say that I find either the man or his poetry very attractive - sorry:)

    1. That's ok, it's still a beautiful country isn't it! I love what the woman said about the Welsh. I am a big fan of his work. As for the man himself, there are some words I read a long time ago that seem to fit him:
      Booze is like a mean old cur who goes after those who can't bite back;
      people with big hearts and sad souls.

  3. Nan, I was away, so read this and watched the vidoe late, but I hope not too late to comment. Thank you for posting it. I loved it. I have often visited the Boat House on the lovely Laugharne estuary and peered in through the window of the little blue hut where Dylan wrote his wonderful poetry -- "time held me green and dying and I sang in its chains like the sea."

    1. That's just how I felt. I so loved seeing it. The wonder of the internet. And I've meant to say, how very much I love the name of your blog. It was so familiar to me, yet I couldn't place it till I did a search, and came upon Eliot. Of course. And aren't they the best words. They make me cry. I must go back and spend more time with him.
