I can't wait to see this!

It's coming to our little theatre the end of June. SO many of my favorite actors and actresses are in it. I may go twice! (And I've ordered the book, of course)

    1. Oh, doesn't it sound wonderful. And Bill Nighy in that clip - isn't he just a delight.

  4. Oh, me too, me too!! We saw this trailer when we were at another movie, can't think which, and I knew I wanted to see it. So many wonderful actors and, yes, I've ordered the book too. Although, I do wonder if this might be one of those that the film will be my favorite. We'll see.

  6. I missed out when it was at our local cinema because I had an awful cough and thought I might get thrown out by annoyed theatre goers! I'll just have to wait for the DVD.

    1. Think about those days when if you missed a movie at the theatre, that was it - no more chances. Incredible.

  7. We saw the preview when we went to The Separation and I'm looking forward to this movie, too! It will be showing at the local Arts Cinema next month. Didn't realize it was based on a book...

    1. Did you like A Separation? It is also going to be at our theatre. I guess you'd call it an 'arts cinema' too. We don't have a big multi-screen movie theatre near - the closest is hours away - and the local one has two movies playing but they are never movies like this. More the blockbusters. So this little theatre is a treasure for us.

    2. A Separation was a very powerful, very intense movie with an abrupt (and ambiguous) ending. I'm glad to have seen it, but it was a little too tense, and with too much yelling, for my taste. I can't recommend it whole-heartedly, but it is worth seeing.

  9. We are looking forward to this too! All our favourites :) It doesn't open in our part of Canada until May 18th. I didn't know there was a book but I'll pop over to the library site now....

    Have a wonderful day,

  10. I've been seeing clips of this on TV and I'm also looking forward to it. Even Maggie Smith is in it and I just love her. Not enough movies about senior citizens who aren't decrepit and cranky!

    1. I don't think 20 and 30 somethings are represented very well on the screen either! They come off as the grossest, shallowest people. That's why I love the so-called 'little' films.

  11. Judi Dench and Maggie Smith...just two of the very best! I like them in everything they do and will certainly see this at my 'art theatre' as soon as it comes here.

    1. Love the name of the knitters!
And I also would like to go to India. Have you read the Tarquin Hall mystery series set there and featuring Vish Puri? I learned a lot about present day India from these books.

  15. You HAVE to see this, Nan! You will love it - I know it! I did! My husband enjoyed the movie too. And one of these days, I going visit India. My husband lived there for a few months for his job several years ago and I have always regretted not taking our then young kids out of school and moving there too for the short spell.

    1. I am so sure that I'll love it. Have you read Tarquin Hall's mystery series set in India? Two books so far, and a new one soon. Excellent depiction of life over there now.

  16. Oh yes -- I just saw an ad for it a couple nights ago and am so excited to see it .... I read about this movie on another blog quite a few weeks ago (Gattina, who is from Belgium). She watched it in the French version apparently and so naturally I assumed that I had missed it somehow (thought, how could I have not heard about this)...looked all over for it...who knew it would be released here in the US so much later. I didn't know it was adapted from a novel, so off to look for that now. (My TBR queue grows every time I visit you!) Thanks!
