Have you seen or heard of this wonderful animated short movie which won an Academy award? I so loved it, and had tears in my eyes at the end. It is fifteen minutes long, and you may see it here.
For anyone who loves books, this is a treasure! I knew I would love it from the opening strains of "Pop Goes The Weasel", a tune that I have always liked!
I have seen this, Nan, and of course I loved it and am so pleased that it won an Oscar, and I've just now listed to your previous post - The Living Years - one of my favorites that will be humming through my head all day.
I just brought Asleep home from the library and the forward alone has me hooked. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
I cried too, at the ending. Simply beautiful short movie. It feels like it was telling about me too, and my relationship with books. Thanks for posting the link, Nan!
Thanks for sharing that Nan! It is wonderful. I shared it with my son who is an artist and going to The Pittsburgh Art Institute right now. And he is also a book lover!

It's such a sweet story and so well done! The graphics are wonderful. I have less and less tolerance for the loud and flashy movies these days; this one is just my speed.
Well, it's done nothing but pour the entire time! Severe storms with flash flooding and bridges out... 14.5 inches of rain in 24 hours and then more throughout the following days. Sigh. We're trying to get out and walk between downpours, but we're kindof stranded and stuck inside. And 58 mph winds sustained!
I guess that's how it gets so green in paradise!! Those folks in LOST were always getting rained on. When we were kids and went to England for the first time, it rained the whole month of June. I lived in my trench coat.
