Christmastime in the farmhouse

  1. What a treat to see your Christmas, Nan. You have so many ornaments similar to mine; from the penguins to Ralphie and that famous lamp! Your cookies looked scrumptious in the previous post

  2. Oh, thank you, Penny. The penguins were a gift from Tom's sister years ago - one for each of us. Margaret just gave us all the Christmas Story pieces, including one which I didn't show - the father and the lamp which is hanging on the tree. How we love them. The cookies were great! And today I made potato chip cookies.

  3. Nan, your decorations are wonderful! I have some "Baby's First Christmas" ornaments from the same time as yours! (My youngest babies are now in their thirties.) Hope you have a beautiful Christmas! Annie

  4. Oh, I love Christmas stuff! Wonderful!

And your winter banner picture is beautiful!

It looks like you figured out how to add pages -- I am working on that now. If you figure out how to make drop down menus for them, please let me know the secret!

    Have a Merry Christmas!

  5. Thank you Annie, and same to you!

Rose City Reader, thank you! Can't help you on the drop down thing. This is the place where I learned about pages:

Maybe she can help with the drop downs too??

  7. What fun to visit your farmhouse, all decorated for Christmas! I haven't taken any photos this month, but perhaps I'll repost from a previous year. It all looks pretty much the same. :)

  8. Beautiful pictures!! I love seeing everyone's decorations and I got a big smile when I saw the little Christmas Story figurines. And did you knit the stockings?

Merry Christmas to you and your family Nan!

  9. Les- yes, the old decorations come out and often, but not always, go in the same places. And the new ones appear and join the old. Margaret has given us all the Christmas Story ones, including one I didn't post of the father and the lamp. How we love that movie. I gave Tom a tie with 'the' lamp on it. Matt is getting a tee shirt with 'fra gee lay', Margaret a lamp nightlight, and Michael a 'talking' lamp keychain. Our own Christmas Story Christmas. :<)

Trish, your question about the stockings made me smile. Nope. I can't knit or sew or embroider. :<)

  10. Haha! I love all the Christmas Story stuff! I didn't know they made those pieces. Did you know I only recently discovered the Christmas Story? How I managed to have missed hearing about it for so many years I'll never know.

  11. Colleen, I bet you were just that bit older when it first came out, whereas my kids were just the right age, so it became a family tradition in this house.
