Quote du jour/Marie de Rabutin-Chantal

Those who are happy enough to have a taste for reading, need never be at a loss for amusement.

  1. And yet so many don't have this, and are bored. :<)

  2. I love the quote. This year my journal was full of old paintings of women reading and quotes.

    The banner is eye popping.

    Just lovely.

P.S. I took part in the Persephone Challenge for this week that you referred to from your blog

  3. I sure wish I'd known of that quote when my teen step-daughter would say she was bored. Once she got to high school though, she was never lacking for things to do or read. I may just share this quote with her anyway.

Thanks again for stopping by my little blog, Nan. I wrote an additional comment there to say that Brandy was very old and passed away the following Spring.

    Have a wonderful day.

  4. Christy, I got the quote from my desk engagement calendar - The Reading Woman, Museum of Fine Arts Boston. A painting by Mary Cassatt accompanies the quote on this last week in August. Thanks about the banner - I love all those bright, bright colors together. I am on the early pages of Cheerful Weather for the Wedding - it is a short book and I thought I'd go right through it but her descriptions are so, so good that I'm reading it very slowly.

Conny, I don't think I've had a bored moment in my life, unless I was somewhere without a book. :<) (I just wrote back about Brandy)
