Waterloo Sunset/Ray Davies

In honor of Ray Davies' 65th birthday (how is that possible?!), I offer this:

  1. Ah, my dad's favourite song - how appropriate for Father's Day. Beautiful song.

  2. I just checked in here and now I told my husband that one of his favorite musician's birthday is today. Thanks! Love Ray Davies. Love this You Tube clip!

  3. And Paul McCartney just turned 67!!
Yes, how indeed can that be possible when I am still 24??!! :)

    Loved Ray's Come Dancing, too.

  4. Vintage Reading, so your dad is probably my age. :<)

Laura, I knew you'd stop by when you saw it was Ray. I remember how much your fellow likes him!

Pamela, I just found out that 'our Pauly' and Roger Ebert share the exact birthday. I love every song RD ever wrote.

  5. I love that song, thank you so much for posting it. I wonder when it was shot, Glastonbury looks much smaller than it is now, maybe in the 80's?
Nice to think he's still going strong, that vintage of musicians seem to have the secret of aging all sewn up.

  6. Nan, Mike and I just got back from grocery shopping. We listened to a Kinks CD there and back thanks to you!

  7. Carole, I just love what you wrote. On the you tube site it said it was 1996 ot 97. This is just about the time he began touring again, and not too long afterward we saw him twice in our little state with our kids.

Laura, I love it!!! Of course, I want to know, which one? :<)

  8. Yep. Just saw a photo of Neil Young - going on 64 years of age. Crazy Horse is hitting the doddering years. Still remember him from CSN&Y....

  9. Jeff, nah! Not doddering at all. :<) I just heard an interview with the drummer on the Kind of Blue album - the only musician still living. He has taken the music on the road with a new band. Oh, and he is 80!!

  11. Hope so, Jeff! I've always said as long as Mick J. is in the world, I'll not feel old.

  12. Today a German pop star was on the news. She was popular when I first met Jos and now she is going to be a grandmother. She is now 49 years old but seemed to be stuck in time for everyone and now many feel old in a way to hear her news. :-)

    Hugs ~

  13. Heidi, imagine being a grandmother so young. When I was that age, my kids were fifteen and twelve. :<)
