Mrs Bale stopping by to explain ...

... why there is no Sunday Stroll today. In ten days time, we've had 4.5 inches of rain! Today there have been a couple interludes of sun, but mostly it is raining. My dear daylilies are too waterlogged to make a bouquet. I don't want to put on my rubber boots and walk around. Even Mrs B's hat, scarf, and gloves wouldn't protect her from the deluge. Maybe next week.

Addendum: Another 1.25 inches on Sunday.

  1. I would say "what a shame" but rain is usually a good thing, even when it puts a damper on our plans. I hope the sun comes out soon, and that you are able to stroll next Sunday. :)

  2. I would gladly send you some of our blistering 105F sunshine. Feel free to send your rain over here. :) We have had to move many of our plants into the shade of the trees, the poor things were practically fainting. And we are supposed to be under a heat advisory till Tuesday evening with possible showers next Wed. I am so NOT a summer person! Come on Fall. Stacey (in KS)

  3. You must have a rain gauge. I heard that our area had 3.85 inches, but that was several days and as many storms ago!

  4. Made your zucchini cake--yum! Thanks for the recipe, it's a keeper. And love Mrs. Bale! Sorry about the rain, though :(

  5. We haven't seen any rain for several days, if not a couple of weeks (I've lost track). Like your anonymous commenter, we're under a heat advisory with 102 as our high yesterday. More of the same today, I'm afraid. I may not ride my bike to work this morning.
