Quote du jour/Gladys Taber

One reason cooking is so exciting is that there is always something new you can make; actually it can be a new adventure every single day.

  1. I would like her books as well. I own only one, and all the others I've read have been from the library. Do you know there is a Friends Of Gladys Taber group?

  2. I love her books also. Maybe if I looked at cooking as an adventure . . .

  3. I buy lots of cookery books and love trying new recipes. I've yet to find a Gladys Taber book, but love seeing it through your blog.

  4. You changed your heading!
OH MY....it must be cold up
there to have that much wood!
I can see you now in front of the
    woodstove or fireplace with
a book! Warm thoughts. Great idea
but today is in the low 60's here
and laundry is hung out in the sun!

  5. Nan,

I love the photos you use for your headings. They are bits of poetry, images that create a feeling, tell a story.

    Thank you,

    Patrice

  6. Jar, that's an idea! :<)

Booksplease, GT has only one or two cookbooks. The others are all chronicles of her country life.

Nancy, this is a great site, but I meant that there is a 'real' newsletter in the mail that comes four times a year. Let me know if you are interested and I can tell you more info.

Bonnie, that picture is just a little section of the wood on terrace. We have big woodpiles further away from the house. We burn about six cords a year!

Patrice, thank you so much. What a nice, nice thing to say.

  7. Gladys Taber is my favorite author. I have most of her book and read them over and over. I found Half.com to have the best selection and prices. Blessings

  8. Enjoyed my visit, Nan ... don't remember how I got here but glad I found you and will pop in again. Hopping over to visit 'The Blog of Henry David Thoreau' ... thanks for the tip!
