Love that quote! I'm listening to Shepherd's Abiding and read it four years ago to my mother before she passed away. Into Jan Karon's new book on Father Tim going back to his childhood home~~ halfway through.
I was just thinking I'd go get it from the library and listen again. I think it is on the same tape as Esther's Gift?? What a nice memory, and what a wonderful thing to do, Bonnie.
I will be so interested to see what you think of the new book. I keep waiting for some blogger to write about it, but haven't seen it yet. I was going to rent it from Recorded Books but wanted to hear a bit about it first.

Yes, the tape has Esther's Gift and The Mitford Snowmen at the end. I'll blog on Father Tim's childhood home sometime. It's a bit different than her other books, but good. Need to get to the end.
