Nearing 500th posting

I am getting close to my 500th blog post, and thought I should do something special. What I'm thinking of is offering a little gift to one of the dear people who read my blog. Maybe a book, maybe a collection of some hand-written recipes, maybe some photo note cards? I guess that starting from today, through the day I post the 500th entry, I'll collect the names of people who comment, and will put them in a hat and draw one. I'm just so thankful to all of you who read and comment on my "letters."

  2. I am not sure what number 'posting' I will be, Nan, but want you to know how much I enjoy your blog.
I have always loved Gladys Taber, and it is so nice to see photos and quotes from her books.
The day lilies are an added bonus. Any secrets re fertalizing, dividing, etc. that you can offer, as you seem to have a great touch with them!

  5. Well, sweet Nan, I finally feel like I have a moment to come see what you did while I was gone. Gorgeous, gorgeous pictures, of course! 500 posts. Amazing. You have stayed with this a long time and shared so much of yourself with others. We all have benefitted tremendously and I thank you for sharing, dear, dear friend. As always, Kay

  6. It's the creativity you bring to your posts that attracts us all. Not having even posted my 200th entry yet, I'm really somewhat in awe of those of you who have done this so consistently over a longer period of time.

  7. "Put my name in the hat," I say, crossing my fingers and toes. --Also, I had some time this evening to read some of the poetry of Maxine Kumin and Galway Kinnell. I really envy you meeting them in person. I think I will have to take a trip to the library to check out some of their books. Thanks for that post on the poets at Frost Place. And--Congratulations on 500 thoughtful and well written posts.

  9. Nan,
I am not one who reads a lot of blogs -- only a handful, but I try never to miss yours even though I rarely comment. My goal is to have as beautiful a garden and to be as well-read as you! Thank you for introducing me to Gladys Taber. And for all the gorgeous photos. Congratulations on your 500th post -- that's quite an achievement.

  10. And I'm so thankful you write your lovely letters (and post your gorgeous pictures). Congrats in advance on your 500th anniversary! But please, don't worry about adding me to your "drawing." :) We share enough throughout the year.
