Sunday at the Farmer's Market

  1. This is a feast for the eyes!!! I just purchased some potatoes, rubarb and curly andive from a farm near our cottage. The farmer and his wife came out and talked to us for a while. They have so little and yet are just the nicest old couple! I love being able to buy directly from them and know they can really use the money. Plus their produce is so yummy and fresh.

Did you even get the sweet peas at the market? I bet they smell so beautiful.

  2. What a nice story about the farm couple. I'd love to have been with you. Yes, I did get the sweet peas there, too. They have only a slight aroma but are so beautiful that I don't mind. The ones I grow are the old fashioned ones with the great smell. They haven't opened yet.

  3. Nan,
These are breathtaking. I almost need sunglasses from their brightness.

  4. They surely are beautiful, Kat and Karen (wouldn't those be nice names for twin girls?) both the veggies and the flowers. And I took the photos in bright, bright sun, too.

  6. And wilted the lettuce some while I took the photos, Les. :<) Ah, the sacrifices for a blog, eh?!

  7. I'm envious of your sweet peas, Nan! My seeds didn't come up this year so I don't have any in my garden. I love visiting the farmer's market every weekend. The only problem is that I want to buy everything! ♥

  8. You may let go of the envy, Lynda. :<) Those aren't mine. I got them at the Farmer's Market as well. I do have some up in the garden, but no blooms yet. And many, many seeds never came up this year. I'll send along some pictures of mine when they do come into blossom.
