I read a book where a cat dies at the end (non-fiction), and I did make it through but I cried a lot.TracyKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08303342674824383688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6049626897935912366.post-29494444005009387232014-10-09T02:20:34.577-04:002014-10-09T02:20:34.577-04:00I'm the same - if animals are part of a book o...I'm the same - if animals are part of a book or film, I hate it when they die, but I don't have the same problem with the human characters. Does that make me a bad person? Even if it does, so be it; it just makes me really sad.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6049626897935912366.post-71937504975721180672014-10-08T21:05:32.677-04:002014-10-08T21:05:32.677-04:00Very funny! He talked about the same thing--if there is a dog on the cover, chances are it won't make it to the end of the book. One fantastic exception to that rule is Kate DiCamillo's Because of Winn-Dixie. I'd recommend that book for ANYONE who loves brilliant writing with characters readers come to love. It's a Kleenex-worthy book, but the dog lives. We were watching the movie Marley and Me, but didn't finish it, though we liked it very much, because it was obvious that the dog was going to die and we couldn't deal with it.Mac n' Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05732924562630675589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6049626897935912366.post-26168155874801389722014-10-08T08:35:46.823-04:002014-10-08T08:35:46.823-04:00Oh, my husband and I feel the same way. I have been known to read ahead in a book to find out if the dog is ok at the end. If it dies, I at least want to steel myself up for it. Thanks for sharing this with all of your animal loving readers.Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15988251415347075888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6049626897935912366.post-33540733782256272662014-10-08T07:38:16.158-04:002014-10-08T07:38:16.158-04:00Neat website, Nan.
