Small town Maine people can be so funny without meaning to be, but they are certainly down-to-earth.Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04179027379034179865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6049626897935912366.post-52399318782181881372011-12-24T06:07:35.228-05:002011-12-24T06:07:35.228-05:00I remember loving Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm as a ...I remember loving Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm as a child, but had no idea the author wrote for adults as well as children. There is an endowed pew...Sounds like a lovely book.
There is an endowed pew in an Episcopal church in the western part of the state...I saw it last month. The funds from the endowment help to support ministries of welcome within the church...and also, I think, the hot breakfast provided to local high school children.Margaret Porterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16202290659191790984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6049626897935912366.post-27254218216658238622011-12-23T10:10:15.603-05:002011-12-23T10:10:15.603-05:00Peggy, I really must make baklava much more often!...Peggy, I really must make baklava much more often!

Librarian, I've heard one twenty-something of my acquaintance saying they wished they had grown up in a different time.
This is a truly wonderful story.

Sarah, have you read any of her other books? I am by no means a prude, but sometimes I get fed up when it has nothing to do really with the story but is just there to make a book more "saucy". When I want saucy, I know where to get that.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6049626897935912366.post-6818287281259917892011-12-22T21:24:56.195-05:002011-12-22T21:24:56.195-05:00I love the cover of this old book! I do love it so...I make a pig of myself. My husband says its not that great and then I catch him sneaking pieces. He is so funny!
