And now they're all gone

Liam Clancy died on Friday.

This has long been my favorite Makem & Clancy song. May all the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem be singing together again in Heaven.

  2. This truly is sad news. Did you know that Bobby Clancy's son, Finbarr, is in quartet? They are called THE HIGH KINGS and they are fantastic. Hubby and Kiddo and I went to see them last year and had an amazing time. If you haven't head them yet, hop on YouTube and check them out - I KNOW you'll love them. Kiddo's favorite song of theirs is FIELDS OF GLORY ... I have way too many favorites to pick just one. t

  6. Hi Nan: I too love this song, but I listen to it sung by John McDermott. Whenever I hear it, it always brings a little tear to my eye. Thanks for posting it.

Now that I am a grandmother, it seems that I am often late in replying to your most-appreciated comments. But I read them as soon as they come in, and I will write as soon as I can. Please do come back and check. I love these blogging conversations. A little addendum - I've just spent quite a long time catching up with dear notes you left me months ago!! I do hope you can get back to read them. And I'm trying to be much more prompt now!

Also, you may comment on any post, no matter how old, and I will see it.
