Spinach Bread


Spinach Bread

Mix together:
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar

In a separate bowl:
Beat 3 eggs
Add 1 cup milk, and beat.


Add egg mix to flour mix.
Add fresh or frozen spinach and grated cheese.
Amounts of spinach and cheese are up to you.
Mix together well, and place in greased 9 x 13 pan.

Bake in preheated 350º oven for about 35 minutes.

As you may know by now, I don't care for cheese, but this is a big hit with Tom!

  4. Sounds yummy but yet again it shows up the paucity of our British shops. We don't have frozen spinach in any of the supermarkets near us and our greengrocer doesn't stock it fresh. There are times when I wish I lived in London where there seems to be a much wider variety of foodstuffs on offer.

    Scriptor S. - I wonder why that is. Not enough call for it, perhaps? What about those 'veg boxes' I read about on blogs? Are they just in the summer? Thank you about the header. This is our old maple tree right outside the house. It was damaged in a storm 11 years ago, but is still going strong.

    Kay, I love meals like this which are nutritious, delicious, and easy and quick.

    Webster, it isn't really. It is really more like a cornbread or any quick bread in a 9 x 13 pan. I'll bet it could be made into a focaccia with a few changes.

  9. spinach is a favorite in our house so this is one recipe that will be a huge hit. Is that tree yours? If it were mine there would be a huge tree house in it! It is perfect!
