Letters from a Hill Farm
Hi Nan -After a busy early afternoon I returned home just as the sun was getting strong in the western window. I caught myself staring at the light falling on the living room wall and thought, hmmm, that is beatiful. I should take a picture: "the light in January". Then someone called me or something and the moment was lost. I am glad you got your camera out and captured the moment.
Amazing! really. I took mine about 8:30 this morning. I just love the look of the light.
Hi Nan,I love light and shadows. I have lace curtains in my bedroom for just that purpose. Your photos are beautiful.Linda in Chapel Hill
P. S. I noticed the calendar that Tom got for Christmas. May I ask what the front cover says - I would love to try and find one. Thanks,Linda in Chapel Hill
These pictures made me happy! Your houseplant looks healthy.
just seeing the sun today was so wonderful! I enjoyed looking at your pictures and being reminded that even in this cold season, winter sun can be so beautiful!
There's definitely something special about the bright sunlight this time of year. Thanks for capturing it and sharing with the rest of us!
Winter sun makes wonderful shadows, doesn't it? Love these pictures.
Lovely. Especially the light on your book shelf.
Doesn't that January sun feel good? It always makes me act cat-like. I want to sit in those rays can soak up all the warmth.
Hello Nan!The January light is indeed beautiful! Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend!Smiles...Beverly
Thanks to each of you for taking the time to write, and for your nice words. I was so taken with the beauty I had to try and capture it. Katie, that houseplant used to be in Tom's classroom, but he brought it home for the summer once, and I couldn't part with it. :<) It is doing great in an east window. Linda, the calendar is called Lunar A Glow-in-the-dark calendar for the 2009 Lunar year. The publisher is Universe. Hope you can find one. We are enjoying it immensely.
It feels good, doesn't it?
It sure does, Colleen, and it makes the house much warmer!
Good day, sunshine! I love this photo essays of yours! I clicked on each one to see them in a larger format. Love the bookcase full of children's books. Such a cheery home you have.
Thank you, Les! It is cheery, but I should show you all that needs doing. :<)
I am changing how I post your much appreciated comments. Since I began the blog, I've waited to post them until I had the opportunity to respond. Sometimes that's taken a while, so I've decided to moderate them and post them as soon as possible, and then I'll respond when I get a chance. Also, you may comment on any posts, no matter how old, and I will receive notice.
